Untitled scarce sea-atlas of the Mediterranean illustrated with 14 engraved maps, dated between 1715 and 1726 and mainly engraved by P. Starckman, on 16 (1 folding) double-pages and 2 (of 3) double-page engraved plates depicting tools for shipbuilding and galley (no title and printed text). Among the decorative maps a large Mediterranean map in 3 sheets and detail map of the major islands (Sicily, Corsica, Sardinia, Greek islands. The first map describes the cost of Marocco and Spain in the Atlantic ocean. Some of the maps have old pencil corrections drawn in, and a handwritten note dated 1796 and describing some rocks near the island of Galita is affixed to western part of the general map of the Mediterranean. Slightly browned, spotted in places, some worming at top to second half of maps. Some repaired tears to upper or lower centerfolds, printer's creases to map of Spain, 2 maps trimmed at sides (the one of Catalonia also slightly shaved at left). Crowned monogram stamp to first map. Lacking 1 plate ("Coupe d'un amiral"). Nice copy with maps in perfect condition. Restored contemp. calf, somewhat worn, spine and endpapers renewed. Shirley, M.MICH-1a-d; Phillips 7859; Nat.
