L’incisione inserita nel testo francese riguarda la Morea con legenda di 21 punti in basso. Beauvau nel 1605 fece una spedizione attraverso Grecia, Turchia, Cipro, Palestina ed Egitto, uno dei diari di viaggio francesi più ampiamente illustrati della prima metà del XVII secolo relativi al Vicino Oriente. Di particolare rilievo è l’uso di Beauvau dell’illustrazione cartografica suggestiva degli isolari italiani del periodo: le 49 mappe e vedute delle isole dell’Egeo, sono incise alla maniera di Cantelli e Camocio. Henri de Beauvau, soldato e diplomatico, combatté i turchi in Ungheria prima al servizio dell’imperatore Rodolfo III, e poi sotto l’elettore di Baviera. Intraprese questo viaggio nel 1605, considerandolo un’impresa diplomatica piuttosto che un pellegrinaggio. Discreto esemplare che presenta fori di cucitura originale al margine destro, lievi tracce d’umidità marginali. Of special note is Beauvau’s use of cartographic illustration suggestive of the Italian isolarios of the period: the 49 maps and views of Aegean islands, etc., engraved in the manner of Cantelli and Camocio.
