Uncommon third edition, printed the same year as the first, of this fundamentally antiphysical treatise, in which Necker argues for the control and regulation of the 'grain police' against the free trade advocated by all the followers of Quesnay and by Turgot then in power. This famous text paved the way for him to succeed Turgot, but was subjected to violent attacks by Physiocrats, including Morellet, Luchet, Baudeau and Rossi. Excellent copy
