8vo (235×170 mm). 253 pages. 7 plates illustrated by Memo Vagaggini, mounted on card and edged in gold. Full blue cloth with gold lettering, with a fine frontispiece. Grey marbled endpapers. Edition edited by Umberto Pittola, the only complete translation based on the original English edition by Macmillan. Twenty-five numbered copies of this volume were printed and bound in special paper; text within a red woodcut border. Small Hoepli advertising sticker on the inside back cover. This is one of the 25 copies produced; no numbering present. In subsequent years, it was republished on lower-quality paper and in a grey paperback. On the frontispiece, a small dedication in pen. An excellent copy.
