Folio (590x450 mm); 87-(6) pages with a photograph of King Victor Emmanuel III, one with a portrait of Mussolini, two plates with a reproduction of Mussolini's autographed letter of introduction, dated Rome, December 26, 1938, with four large double-page plates depicting the EUR project, a beautiful color plate by Sironi, plans and elevations of future buildings (several of which were later built). This is the deluxe edition of 1,200 copies (but certainly never completed, given the outbreak of World War II, probably just over 200 copies were produced) of the project commissioned by Mussolini for the Universal Exposition that was to be held in 1942. In the colophon: This volume presenting the Universal Exposition in Rome was printed by the General Commissariat in Paganini type on Fabriano handmade paper. Editorial binding in full red leather with a large medal embossed on the front cover and three fasces embossed on the back cover, contained in a special hemp box with black dry titles on the front cover. Good copy internally in excellent condition. Binding with some traces of moisture and stains. Complete with hazelnut-colored canvas case (with some defects) and fabric bag.
