Copper engraving, hand-painted, mm 465x610. Interesting astronomical table depicting the two hemispheres with all the stars and constellations. At the bottom it shows in two panels the motion of the fixed stars according to Tycho Brahe and Riccioli. Dedication to Marco Bembo, in the centre a legend of the relations of magnitude between the earth and the stars. Taken from "Corso geografico" (1688-92), one of the most famous works of the Venetian religious scholar, author between the end of the century and the beginning of the next of dozens of important publications, including the "Book of Globes", as well as the famous globes built for the King of France, "Theatre of War", "Venetian Atlas" and "Theatre of Cities". Excellent state of preservation.
