Copper engravings, mm 345x478, original hand colour. Scarce celestial charts from “Nuovo Atlante Geografico Universale delineato sulle ultime osservazioni”, printed in Rome form 1792 to 1801. Each plate shows in the corners four of the most important astronomical observatories: Rome (Collegio Romano), Bologna, Padua, Milan (on the northern chart) and Cassel, Copenhagen, Greenwich and Paris (on the southern chart). Giovanni Maria Cassini (1745-1824) was religious, cartographer and globe maker. Very good condition except some light foxing and a water stain in bottom corners.
