Copper engraving, 232 x 315 mm, hand-painted from the period. An excellent example. Taken from the Atlas of the Geographies, itself a collection of geographical maps that, once developed, would lead to the General Atlas of Bartolomeo Borghi, considered one of the best cartographers of the time, born near Perugia in 1750. He collaborated with Zatta on the Tuscan-Umbrian section of the Atlas of the New Atlas, and in the Geographical Atlas published by Pazzini Carli between 1798 and 1800, Borghi drew most of the maps before dedicating himself to his own atlas, published in Florence in 1819. This latter atlas is a sort of dress rehearsal for his most important work, the General Atlas of the abbot Bartolomeo Borghi, published in Florence in 1819, which reflects the new geopolitical order implemented by the Congress of Vienna.
