Fascinating map of the territory, taken from "Italia" the fundamental first atlas with maps of the entire peninsula, which the geographer and mathematician Magini produced at the end of the 16th century, but which, due to his death, was only published in 1620 by his son, three years after his father's death. Thanks to his personal contacts with the most important institutions and cartographers of the time, Magini had at his disposal cartographic material that was sometimes unpublished or otherwise unavailable to scholars. His work formed the foundation of all 17th century cartography, being constantly copied by all subsequent authors. Fine specimen with small restored woodworm holes and minor flaws to the central fold, very short top margin as usual, the engraving being very large.
