Copper engraving, 340 x 520 mm (image), engraved by G. Maina and V. Stanghi based on a drawing by Vittorio Angeli. Attilio Zuccagni-Orlandini (1784-1872) was an Italian cartographer and geographer. His main work is undoubtedly the Chorografia fisica, storica e statistiche dell’Italia e delle sue isole, to which this engraving belongs. The Chorografia consists of twelve volumes (not counting the various supplements), printed between 1833 and 1845, and is accompanied by a two-volume atlas and numerous geographical and topographical maps, as well as illustrative plates.
