Chromolithography, mm 900x1300, printed in Rome by C. Virano. Milestone in the geological history of Elba made thanks to the work of engineers B. Lotti, P. Fossen, E. Mattirolo and G. Meneghini. It is a reduction, albeit in a very large format, of the first geological map of Elba surveyed in 1882 at a scale of 1:10,000. Actually, in 1841 M. Studer published the first geological map of the Island of Elba in black and white, but this one by Bernardino Lotti (1847-1933) is considered as
the first detailed survey of the entire Island of Elba.
Good specimen albeit with editorial folds some faults in the margins (tears) and restored breaks along the folds.
