Two big nautical charts, each in three sheets joined for total cm 100x210 with 33 inset maps of major towns and harbours and ports: Gibraltar, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Marseille, Genua, Gulf of Naples, Strait of Messina, Mahon, Valletta, Bonifacio, Smyrne, Alexandria, Egadi island and Tripoli of Lybia. The charts are drawn and compiled by J.W. Appleton and engraved by Homewood and son. In very good general condition except slight or minor wear at edges, marginal tears (all restored) and only two long tears professionaly restored. Norie & Wilson were succesors to Charles Wilson and were on of the most successful producers of 'blue-back' sea-charts in the late 19th century, working for both the Admiralty and East India Company. Very rare, particularly in fine condition.
