Good overall condition, although some restoration work has been carried out.Jacques Philippe Lebas (1707-1783) received his first art lessons in Paris under the guidance of Hérisset at the age of fourteen. He developed his skills at the Academy of Rouen and under the guidance of engraver Nicolas Tardieu. He quickly established himself as one of the most sought-after engravers of the mid-18th century. In 1743, he was admitted as a full member of the French Royal Academy and in 1782, he received the title of Graveur du Roy from Louis XVI. Lebas was inspired by the work of David Teniers and produced around 100 works inspired by David Teniers (1610-1690), including the Fêtes Flamandes series.
