Copy dedicated to Barbara and Paolo in the lower left corner. Signed in pencil on the sheet in the lower right corner MARINO
The lithographs were printed at the Mourlot printing house in Paris. The print run was 50 copies numbered from 1/50 to 50/50. Six copies for collaborators numbered from I/VI to VI/VI. Fifteen copies for the artist numbered HC from I to XV. Our copy is dedicated by the artist to two friends.Marini's knights are men of virtue, silent and ancient figures, representatives of a proud and honest humanity. In his later years, Marino Marini's favorite themes, particularly that of the “Knight,” underwent a maturation, resulting in a new artistic language. The representation of the figures of man and horse is reduced to completely schematized sketch lines and reduced to the essential, which are partly white and seem to be carved out of a black background, and partly black and resting on light backgrounds. Excellent example with wide margins on two sides, small tear restored at the top margin. Bibliography: G. Guastalla, Marino Marini.
