Excerpt from "Magnificentiores selectioresque Urbis Venetiarum prospectus quos olim Michael marieschi Venetus Pictor, et Architectus in plerisque tabulis depinxit". Dedication sheet to Marc-Antoine de Beauveau, a Lorraine nobleman, probably executed in 1741. depicting a wonderful view from the centre of St. Mark's basin towards the piazza, with the Sansovino Library in the foreground on the left and the Doge's Palace on the right. Marieschi published the series of views in 1741, drawing them from his own paintings. He overcame Carlevarijs rigour and rigidity and gave plasticity to the city's architecture, deserving a first-rate place among the engravers of the period.
