Copper engraving, mm 268x348. An impressive panoramic view of Prague, printed over two sheets, from Merian's Theatrum Europaeum. The view, one of two of Prague featured by Merian, shows the city from the hills to the south-west, looking north with the Cathedral and Old Town at centre, and Prague Castle, Mala Strana, and Hradcany to the left. It was likely inspired by a similar panorama of the city published by Wenceslaus Hollar in 1636. Printed over two sheets and joined, vertical folds, as issued. Very good condition
