He was a very active publisher in Amsterdam at the beginning of the 18th century: among his main works were the reprinting of Blaeu's "Theatrum Civitatum...Italiae" with the original addition of a fourth volume, covering northern Italy and Tuscany. Likewise, Alberts made changes and inserted his imprint on many maps.
