copper engraving, 415x530 mm. Famous perspective view of the Neapolitan city, taken from "Nouveau théâtre d'Italie" by Pierre Mortier (1661-1711). He was a very active publisher in Amsterdam at the beginning of the 18th century: among his main works were the reprinting of Blaeu's "Theatrum Civitatum...Italiae" with the original addition of a fourth volume, covering northern Italy and Tuscany. Likewise, Alberts made changes and inserted his imprint on many maps. The plate is derived from the famous subject by Braun and Hogenberg (based on a painting by Georg Hoefnagel) included in the magnificent work 'Theatrum Civitatum'.Fine specimen, usual traces of editorial folds
