Lithograph, 290 x 400 mm, from the "Album pittorico del Friuli," printed in Venice by Kirchmayr for the publisher Codecasa of Udine, who was also a life illustrator and lithographer. Dedicated to Emanuele Lodi, Bishop of Udine. This extremely rare album, the finest work ever printed on Friuli, is composed of twenty-six plates drawn by Venetian artists Marco Moro and Ottavio Codecasa, printed in 1841 using the innovative lithographic technique on Bavarian stone.
The work is of exceptional value for its refined linework and the perfect printing technique of the Linassi printers of Trieste and Berletti of Udine. The "Album pittorico" is a precious historical document for the architectural and urban settings it depicts. Each scene, depicted with a warm, expressive style, is populated by characters portrayed in their city or country life, immersed in a serene atmosphere born from a romantic interpretation of the landscape. Marginal defects and tears restored, but only one affects the depiction
