Copper engraving, 454x562 mm. Splendid engraving depicting Farnese Palace in Rome by the architect Barozzi da Vignola Taken from 'Nouveau théâtre d'Italie'. Pierre Mortier (1661-1711) was a very active publisher in Amsterdam at the beginning of the 18th century: among his main labours was the reprinting of Blaeu's 'Theatrum Civitatum...Italiae' with the original addition of a fourth volume, relating to northern Italy and Tuscany. Likewise, Alberts made changes and inserted his imprint on many maps. Beautiful colour specimen, usual traces of editorial folds, marginalised there is a professional restoration to the central fold
