Copperplate engraving, mm 750x1130, mounted on coeval cloth and divided into 32 detachments. Bears note at bottom “Publicata spese di Venanzio Monaldini Libraio e Cartolaro in Piaz.ª di Spagna Nº19 an.º 1823.” Very well preserved. First edition of this large plan by Monaldini, depicting the city within the city walls, as engraved on a stone slab. On the sides the plan is enriched with 16 small views depicting some of the major monuments: St. Peter's Basilica; Basilica of S.M. Maggiore; Agrippa's Pantheon; Roman Forum; Basilica of St. John Lateran; Basilica of St. Paul; Capitoline Hill; Flavian Amphitheater; Pyramid of C. Cestius; Trajan's Forum; and Mount Horse.
