Copper engraving, hand-painted, 112x170 mm. Taken from ‘Theatrum urbium Italicarum’, the first edition of this collection of plans and views of cities (undoubtedly to be preferred for the freshness of the printing of the plates to the following one), reprinted later in Vicenza in 1616 by Domenico Amadio with the addition of some plates (67 plates instead of the original 59). Latin text on the verso, by an unknown author, although some scholars speculate it is by Bertelli himself. Excellent specimen.
