Copper engraving, 480 x 335 mm, hand-painted, from the rare work “Illustriorum Italiae Urbium Tabulae, cum appendice celebriorum in maris Mediterranei Insulis Civitatum”. Traces of folds and a restoration at the bottom of the central fold in the margin only. Rare perspective plan from the collection of urban cartography by Janssonius-Waesberghe ' Tooneel der vermaarste Koop-Steden, printed in Amsterdam in 1682. This engraving was initially included in "Theatrum praecipuarum urbium", Janssonius's famous work on the cities of the world, which was inspired by the earlier work by Braun and Hogenberg "Civitates Orbis Terrarum" from which he reused the plates purchased in 1653 with minor elaborations. Published in 1657, it contains 500 plates depicting cities from all over the world. For many of the views of Italian cities, contained in the fifth volume, the one dedicated to Italy and called "Illustriorum Italiae Urbium Tabulae....", he also made extensive use of the plates by Jodocus Hondius engraved for "Italia Hodierna" of 1627.
