Original edition of the most important historical work on the city, the result of the systematic study of the greatest Veronese scholar of the eighteenth century, a prominent figure in the national field for the importance of his studies not only historical and local, but also in the fields of archaeology, paleography, theater, as well as economics and science: in fact, he wrote on lightning, on the use of money and its lending, on magic always characterizing his works with great modernity and criticism of stale traditions, often taking a stand against the Church. The first edition was published in three typographical variants: in folio, two volumes in quarto and four volumes in octavo; with the same engravings obviously remodeling the typographical layout.
