FAGIUOLI ETTORE

Verona
Date: Verona,1935 about
Cod 35058
750,00 €
Etching, 330 × 480 mm. A rare print, signed in pencil in the right-hand margin and on the plate at the bottom centre, with the title and date inscribed on the plate. Fagiuoli (1884–1961) was a leading figure on the Veronese scene of the 20th century as an architect, set designer and artist. His etchings, characterised by remarkable graphic expressiveness and a highly personal style, are undoubtedly the most faithful graphic representation of Verona in the first half of the 20th century. He also published several etchings of Genoa. The famous architect, who designed dozens of private and public buildings, was in the habit of engraving a few unnumbered copies for his own pleasure, which he often gave to friends. An excellent example.
